29 My Favorable Popular Coffee Brands

A morning cup of coffee does more than just give a person a daily jump of energy. Often it is the first thing one tastes, so a flavorful coffee can provide an inspiring start.

The National Coffee Association estimates that 62% of Americans drink coffee and on average about three cups daily. That is a huge amount of coffee consumed daily in the US.

This article is a quick review of my favorable popular coffee brands, roasters, and producers who have been the best providers of coffee for years as household names.

#1

Stumptown coffee is one of the most popular coffee brands that I recommend.

Opened in the 1990s, Stumptown’s coffees are extremely good. It is a small-batch premium roasting company. It is famous for its dedication to coffee science, and the quality product they source.

The coffee is robust and strong-gestured with nut, citrus, and a deep, apricot-like sweetness in the aroma. The acidity is rich and complex though slightly astringent with a little rough-textured mouthfeel.

In addition, the coffee has a rich finish with a salty-savory edge.

I love Maud’s Kona coffee in particular. Each sip of Maud’s Kona coffee is a blissful escape, transporting me to a sun-drenched Hawaiian beach with its rich, smooth depth and whispers of chocolate-nutty warmth. It’s more than just coffee; it’s a daily dose of paradise in a mug.

Caribou Coffee began as a small roastery shop in Minnesota, but now, this brand of coffee can be found in every state. This is one stellar cup of coffee.

Caribou coffee is strong with a striking taste.

The best of their beans are the dark roasts like Mahogany Blend with an earthy profile. Their lighter roasts have bright tangy flavors.

A bag of Lavazza coffee beans can transport your morning into the heart of the world’s cappuccino capital.

Lavazza coffees are intense. The chocolate-forward accent Gran Selezione blends makes it a morning cup to enjoy slowly.

The Classico blends come in lower intensities but still pack as much flavor as a true sweet espresso.

Trader Joe’s Kahawa 1893 coffee is a premium African coffee that is sourced directly from women farmers in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, etc.

Kahawa means coffee in Swahili.

The coffee is crisp, bright, and floral-toned. A few people taste this sweet, high-toned African joe with the notes of stone fruit and cocoa nib and a black tea-like silkiness.

Peet’s Coffee was founded in Seattle by Dutch immigrant Alfred Peet. A cup of Peet’s coffee will take you back to a time when the manual roasting process was the norm.

Peet’s seals their coffee bags immediately after the roast, which locks in the coffee’s freshness.

This packaging process allows you to brew its coffee to display its full flavors. Peet’s can be a little pricy, but it is worth every single penny just for the taste of the freshness.

Not only bags of fresh La Colombe grinds and whole beans line among other specialty brands on grocery shelves, but also the single-serve cans of cold brew and draft lattes premixed with coffee creamer are displayed at these stores too.

In addition, these cans of draft lattes can be found in plain oat milk latte forms as well as with vanilla, caramel, chocolate, or in the nitro brew.

Besides the ready-to-drink can of cold brew, La Colombe also produces ready-to-brew coffee. Its Corsican is a dark roast with full notes of red wine and spice, San Roque is a light roast that tastes like cherry soda. Monaco, New York, and Brazil are some of the blends between these two flavors.

Nowadays, people associate Starbucks with trendy, flamboyant offerings, but the café chain still keeps its roots of roasting a simple yet great cup of joe.

Starbucks has become synonymous with Coffee, at least in the US. With its 15,000 + café in the US, you cannot simply miss a Starbucks at the street intersection of a city, its bags of roasted beans or grinds are being carried in almost every supermarket.

Nowadays, Eight O’Clock Coffee is a K-Cup brand that can be found anywhere, even in big box building material stores, like Home Depot.

The brand offers good, tasty coffee at an inexpensive price.

I like their regular roasts, such as Original or Donut Shop, which offer a more even-keeled and reliable flavor. Eight O’Clock also offers specialty flavors such as Mint Chocolate, French Vanilla, and Hazelnut.

I do not appreciate any coffee with added flavors though.

In 2003, Starbucks purchased Seattle’s Best to expand its roasting capacity for mass production.

Seattle’s Best Coffee has an overwhelmingly bitter note, even though the company offers a wide range of coffees, from light to dark roasts.

Gevalia, a Swedish brand, uses high-quality coffee beans, a fundamental attribution to the company’s full-taste coffee roasts.

However, to some sensitive palates, these roasts may taste a bit too full, and the aftertaste can be in the range of burnt and bitter.

If you, my dear coffee lovers, like me, enjoy heavily flavored coffee, Gevalia might be a great fit.

Café du Monde is a regional coffee since 1862. The company is still in production in New Orleans. Café du Monde’s specialty chicory roasts are one of the originals.

During hard times when coffee was not readily available, chicory root was often used as a supplement to be roasted along with beans, strengthening the flavor and volume of a cup of coffee.

Because of this tradition in its blends, a cup of Café du Monde coffee is slightly more bitter than average, and with an earthy taste. It just has a unique flavor.
